09/17/2008 7:30 PM - Living In the Moment
Eckhart Tolle, like other sages, has said we can live in peace, joy and contentment if we learn to live in the present. Are we letting past hurts or worries about the future stop us from living fully in the present? Come join us as we explore a different approach to life. Let us share our thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Perhaps together we can find a more beneficial way of approaching life and thereby gain a better understanding of how we can improve our relationship with ourselves and with others.

10/16/2008 10:00 AM - GOT PEACE?
They say world peace begins with each individual. But how can I remain calm in my heart when all around me there is noise, conflict, and turmoil? Spiritual teachers have their theories for achieving peace. We’ll take a look at some of them. But more important, let’s share our own thoughts and experiences. What works? What’s difficult, and where do we need help?
We’ll talk and try discovering some paths to inner peace.

12/01/2007 9:00 AM - Painting Exhibition- Donna G.
Exhibition of paintings by Artist Donna G.
Exhibition open during regular Library hours.

"Rough, raw, surreal" is how Donna G. sees her paintings. Her style has been described as Abstract Realism. She begins her creative process by looking at something, often from nature, and staring at it long enough, in a somewhat dreamlike state, until new shapes and images emerge. She then begins painting from those images, but often, her work takes off in a completely different direction. The surreal, organic landscapes will make you stop and think about what you're seeing. Traditional scenes often become visions of an alternate reality.

Each year we put together an anthology: a culmination of our thinking, listening, and writing.
